The Katherine Nalywaiko Rejoice Experience
In partnership with the Steve McGirr Charitable Foundation, the Katherine Nalywaiko Rejoice Experience is devoted to bringing joy, adventure, and meaningful experiences to individuals and families navigating the challenges of brain cancer.
Inspired by the remarkable life and enduring optimism of Katherine Nalywaiko (September 13, 1955 – August 1, 2024), this initiative honors a woman whose faith, strength, and love for her family defined every aspect of her life.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother (“Grammy K”), and friend, Katherine’s kindness and zest for life touched all who knew her. Her passion for travel, exploration, and creating lasting memories with loved ones remained steadfast—even through her courageous journey with Glioblastoma.
Katherine’s journey was supported by the Steve McGirr Charitable Foundation, whose generosity provided access to vital and life-extending treatments. In continued gratitude and collaboration, the Rejoice Experience builds upon that partnership to offer families affected by brain tumors the opportunity to reconnect and rediscover moments of joy through shared experiences.
The Katherine Nalywaiko Rejoice Experience reflects Katherine’s enduring legacy: to rejoice always and to help others find light, laughter, and love when they need it most.
Through the generosity of donors, the Katherine Nalywaiko Rejoice Experience provides financial assistance for meaningful trips, adventures, and family gatherings—moments that foster connection, hope, and respite amid the demands of diagnosis and treatment. Whether it is a quiet family getaway, a long-awaited reunion, or a special adventure, each experience celebrates life and the power of togetherness.
