Help Families in Need

Every year, thousands of families face the devastating diagnosis of a brain tumor. We provide support when they need it most.

Glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer, presents an urgent challenge – with treatment, the median survival is 15 months. These families need support, and you can help.

Since 2012, the Steve McGirr Charitable Foundation has been helping families facing brain tumor diagnoses.

We help families access:

Direct financial support for medical treatment and related expenses

Connections to specialized medical professionals

Access to treatment information and other helpful resources

Emotional support through our network of care providers and survivor communities

Transform Lives Today

Your support creates immediate impact for families navigating brain tumor treatment. Whether through donation, event participation, or spreading awareness, you can help provide crucial support when it’s needed most.

All financial and prize donations are fully tax-deductible (IRS EIN# 90-1139797).  The Steve McGirr Charitable Foundation is a 501(c)(3), tax-exempt private charity.

Our fundraising events bring together survivors, families, and supporters in celebration of life and community. Each event directly funds our mission while creating lasting connections.

About Steve

Steve McGirr was a devoted father, husband, and friend who never met a stranger. His infectious spirit, love for rugby, and passion for the outdoors touched countless lives before he was taken by glioblastoma in 2012. What began as a gathering of friends and family in his final summer has grown into a foundation dedicated to supporting brain tumor patients and their families.
