Grant Process
The Foundation’s mission is to provide direct financial support to Brain Tumor patients and their families for expenses related to direct and indirect diagnosis and treatment of their condition.
When applying for the grant, the board will review the case to determine if we are able to provide reimbursement for the costs that the patient has incurred.
Here are some examples of items that are covered:
- Any out of pocket expense directly related to the patient's brain tumor
- T&E for clinical trials including air, hotel and food
- Gas and food expenses for medical expenses
- Co-payments made for insurance related to the treatment for the brain tumor
- Wigs due to hair lost due to the chemo related treatments
- Hospice care
Once reviewed and approved by the board, a portion of the costs will be granted depending on the overall financial condition of the foundation.
Typically, a member of the board will meet directly with the grantee to deliver the grant which typically should occur within 2-4 weeks of the application being submitted.
The Foundation will not cover any cancer-related diseases that are not directly related to a brain tumor.
